Scalp care

A clean head, looked after

A scalp care visit is a warm cleanse, a gentle scrub and a scalp massage, finished with a hot towel. It is for a clean, comfortable head, shaved or close-cut.

Your barber looks at your scalp as part of the visit, and tells you plainly if anything should be seen by a doctor.

What happens

  • A warm cleanse and a gentle scrub

  • A scalp massage

  • A hot towel to finish

  • A word about anything you or your barber notice

In plain words

What it is, and what it is not

Read this before you book, so you know what you are getting.

What it is

  • A careful cleanse and massage of the scalp, by a licensed barber.
  • A chance to talk about how your scalp feels, and what you have noticed.
  • A second pair of eyes: your barber will tell you if something looks like it should be seen.

What it is not

  • It is not medical care, and we do not diagnose.
  • It does not grow hair.
  • It is not a substitute for asking a doctor when something changes.

What we use

Plain products, explained

We keep it simple: a mild cleanser, a plain oil and warm towels. Your barber tells you what they used and why, and you can ask to skip anything.

If your scalp is sensitive, tell us when you book and we will plan the visit around it.

Before you book

When to ask your doctor first

We would rather you know why. Ask your doctor or a dermatologist if any of these sound like you.

Your hair has thinned quickly

Fast thinning, or patches, is worth a doctor's visit before anything else. We would rather you know why.

Your scalp is sore, itchy or has a rash

We do not shave or scrub over irritated or broken skin. See your doctor first, and come back when your scalp has settled.

A mole or spot has changed

Changes in size, color or shape, or a spot that bleeds or will not heal, should be looked at by a doctor or a dermatologist.

You are on a medicine that affects your skin

Ask your doctor whether a scrub and a shave are right for you now. You can book later.

Start with a talk

Book a scalp care visit, or call and ask what suits you.
